Series: Total Forgiveness!

Summary

The Consequences of Unforgiveness!

Part 2 in the series Total Forgiveness!

Total forgiveness is the intentional and repeated _____________ I make as a Christ-follower to offer _________ and extend _____________ to those who have hurt me.

Since you have heard about Jesus and have learned the truth that comes from him, throw off your old sinful nature and your former way of life, which is corrupted by lust and deception.  Instead, let the Spirit renew your thoughts and attitudes.  Put on your new nature, created to be like God—truly righteous and holy.

Ephesians 4:21-23 (NLT)

What price do I pay for not forgiving others?

1.             Not forgiving hurts my relationship with ________________!

And “don’t sin by letting anger control you.” Don’t let the sun go down while you are still angry, for anger gives a foothold to the devil.

Ephesians 4:26-27 (NLT)

2.             Not forgiving injures my relationship with _________________!

Instead, be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you.

Ephesians 4:32 (NLT)

Work at living in peace with everyone, and work at living a holy life, for those who are not holy will not see the Lord.  Look after each other so that none of you fails to receive the grace of God. Watch out that no poisonous root of bitterness grows up to trouble you, corrupting many.

Hebrews 12:14-15 (NLT)

3.             Not forgiving damages my relationship with ________________!

And do not bring sorrow to God’s Holy Spirit by the way you live. Remember, he has identified you as his own, guaranteeing that you will be saved on the day of redemption.  Get rid of all bitterness, rage, anger, harsh words, and slander, as well as all types of evil behavior.

Ephesians 4:30-31 (NLT)
