Part 2

Every Christ follower who calls Grace Church their spiritual home should have a discipler who can call out the best in him or her, keep him or her accountable and help him or her become a discipler.

So as David stood there among his brothers, Samuel took the flask of olive oil he had brought and anointed David with the oil. And the Spirit of the Lord came powerfully upon David from that day on. Then Samuel returned to Ramah.

1 Samuel 16:13 (NLT)

Why do I need a discipler in my life?

Timothy, my dear son, be strong through the grace that God gives you in Christ Jesus. You have heard me teach things that have been confirmed by many reliable witnesses. Now teach these truths to other trustworthy people who will be able to pass them on to others.

2 Timothy 2:1-2 (NLT)

  1. A discipler _______________.

So Ananias went and found Saul. He laid his hands on him and said, “Brother Saul, the Lord Jesus, who appeared to you on the road, has sent me so that you might regain your sight and be filled with the Holy Spirit.”

Acts 9:17 (NLT)

  1. A discipler _________________.

This is why I remind you to fan into flames the spiritual gift God gave you when I laid my hands on you. For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline.

2 Timothy 1:6-7 (NLT)

  1. A discipler _____________________.

Jesus came and told his disciples, “I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth. Therefore, go and make disciples…”

Matthew 28:18-19a (NLT)
